President Trump announced that existing antimalarial medication and antibiotics can be used to treat virus-infected patients. Trials showed a significant reduction of the viral carriage in subjects. South Korea has already been using the drugs with good effect. People without the virus are suffering too, due to disruptions in supply chains and increased demand for products. A particularly vulnerable area is pharmaceuticals; China is in involved in producing 80-90% of the US’s meds. It’s advised that people prepare with extra food and essentials.
