States Beginning to Reopen

As Unemployment Grows and Stress on Citizens Mounts, States Finally Begin to Ease Some Restrictions

After almost two months of government-imposed lock-downs, some businesses are starting to reopen. States differ on what can open and when, however. Since February, unemployment rates have hit record highs, small businesses have permanently gone under, and suicide and abuse statistics have increased dramatically. Personal liberties have seen the greatest crack-down in decades. Reopenings are praised by those who want to return to work to feed their families, but condemned by others.

Pray for logical thinking to prevail. Pray for people to seek and find truth. Pray for people to come to new realizations about themselves and their lives. Pray for Christians to stand firm in the faith against persecution. Pray for peace. Pray for neighbors to help one another during these lean times. Pray for leaders to resist the temptation to take — and keep — more power during the crisis. Pray for discernment as people are bombarded by information, some of which is false, and much of which is frightening.
