Smoke from Uncontrolled Fires Pollutes US Skies
Canada is on track for its worst wildfire year on record. Fires are projected to last the entire fire season, which drags through August. Nearly nearly all Canadian provinces and territories are fighting blazes, with no end in sight. What ignited the fires is up for debate.
Smoke from the conflagrations has drifted into the US, filling NYC skies and making breathing difficult. People as far south as Florida have reported suffering from the smoke’s effects.
