Russia’s Nord Stream 2 Pipeline Shut Down After Attacks
As yet unnamed saboteurs attacked the multi-billion dollar natural gas pipeline Nord Stream 2, which runs from Russia to Germany. The US military was on maneuvers in the area of the pipeline rupture at the time of the sabotage. Heavy armor composed partly of cement shields the pipeline from all but the most capable of assailants.
Victoria Nuland, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs at the Department of State, and Joe Biden are on record as threatening to end Nord Stream 2, a Russian project, if Russia invaded Ukraine again. Recently, Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated the loss of this pipe and the closure of the Nord Stream 1 make the US the biggest supplier of gas to Europe in a time when Europe and the UK are experiencing severe energy shortages.
With winter coming, the average person will bear the brunt of this crisis.
